…and Myron Swarts in the 2025 Pancake Eating Competition
Yvonne Benjamin of Magic Needle has created a one-of-a-kind Tick Costume in honor of Southern Tier Lyme’s 10th Anniversary and the 2025 Lyme Conference.
The first public display of the costume was at the 2025 Maple Festival in Marathon, NY, where Southern Tier Lyme Support President, Myron Swarts participated in the annual fundraising pancake eating competition.
Myron Swarts, pictured with his fellow contestants, participated in the annual pancake eating competition on April 5, 2025. He consumed an impressive 12 pancakes and raised over $700 for Lyme Awareness!

To celebrate our 10th year, Southern Tier Lyme Support Inc. presents guest speakers – Yetrib Hathout, Ph.D., Amanda Roome, Ph.D., Dr. Henry Lindner, Dr. Ronald Stram, Dr. Richard Horowitz (live- virtual), Holly Ahern, MS, MT(ASCP); buffet dinner; cash bar with wine, beer, soda, coffee, tea, and a lime mocktail; vendors; and raffles including 50-50 raffle; and live music with Rose and Thorne from 6 to 8 pm.
$40 entry fee per person covers the cost of dinner and the band.
There is no additional fee to attend the lectures.
